Who I Help
Emmaus Counseling guides people of all ages in overcoming obstacles that hinder connection and belonging through attentive and empathetic therapy tailored to your personality, based on your strengths and needs. If you’ve been on an exhaustive search for a therapist near the south Austin, Buda, and Kyle areas, then let me share a little more about my mental health services. I help individuals transform thoughts of isolation and loneliness into opportunities for self-awareness and discovery of your innate strength and capacity. I help my clients overcome the voice of doubt and amplify the truth: You are loved, unique, irreplaceable, and worthy—you belong, and your life has meaning.
I work with children three years and older experiencing emotional dysregulation, i.e. tantrums, adolescents struggling to connect with their parents and peers on their journey toward independence and self-discovery. I help parents struggling with difficult behavior from their kids, and individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, feeling stuck, grieving, experiencing divorce to find a way forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Emmaus Counseling is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This was a deliberate, values-driven decision: when therapy is billed through insurance, therapists are required to provide a formal mental health diagnosis that becomes a permanent part of your medical record - which can affect life insurance applications, certain job opportunities, and security clearances. As a private-pay practice, Emmaus is not required to diagnose you in order to work with you, and your care stays entirely between you and the therapist. It also means we have the freedom to tailor your therapy around your needs without being bound by insurer-defined standards.
I can provide a superbill to submit for insurance reimbursement.
